Our First Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
Sometimes it is hard for me to believe that this is our family. Complete! This is the family that we will have for forever until we have grandchildren and in-laws of course. As much as we hated not get to be with everyone we had to admit that it was nice to spend a holiday in our own home with our kids. We got up this morning and had breakfast then I put the turkey on. I ask Priss this morning if Bubba could sit with her in "her chair" while mommy cooked breakfast. She clearly said NO originally but after she realized that she did not have a choice she allowed him to sit with her. For a whole minute until she decided she would rather get up than sit with him. You can see in one picture she is trying to push him out of the seat. We started watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, then I made a few phone calls to talk to the fam. Then the kids and I got dressed and finished lunch.
I have to say my Bubba Love does not know how to make a bad picture.
Miss Priss loved watching all the floats on the TV.

The guys hung out waiting for the food and football.

We did use the self timer on the camera for one family shot. I balanced the camera on the recliner. Sometimes you just have to improvise.

It was not a feast but it was more than enough for us.
Miss Priss gave me this nice surprise while I was cooking. Sunblock all over her. I have simply decided it is more fun to take pictures to embarrass her with years from now than to get upset.

Priss played some educational games while watching the parade.
We are having a lovely relaxing day and we hope you all are doing the same.
Since it is THANKSgiving Day I must say that I am most thankful for my family and having the pleasure of spending the day with my family. This is the first time in 3 years Mike has not had to work. So, thank you God for providing me with my amazing family.

Maci and the Kids

The kids and I watch our neighbors dog Maci a couple of days a week when they need help and you can see who Maci took up with. I think she may have thought that Bubba was a safe
place to stay. Madison absolutely loves her and likes to wag her around.

They had there checkups on Monday and Bubba Love is weighing in at 16 lbs, 11 1/2 ozs.
Can you believe it???? He is truly my "tub of love"!
Priss is now 28 1/2 lbs! They are both growing so fast.

Well I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. Mike and I will be home with the kids. We decided it was such a short holiday that it would be too much for the kids to be in the car so much so we are opting to stay home together and relax. We love and miss you all.

Decorating for Mimi

The kids and I spent the last week in Nixa with Mimi and Papa Strain working on decorating for Christmas. Overall we put up five trees and decorated the stairs and fireplaces. It has became a yearly thing that I help Mimi decorate. My favorite tree is the above gold tree that we put in her formal living room. I saw this tree a couple of weeks ago in the store and fell in love with it. I knew that it would be perfect in this room and started working on convincing Mimi of that. After a few days of persuasion she finally came around. I think in the end it became Mimi and Papa's favorite as well. Some of my pictures aren't the clearest but some little fingers got a hold of my camera lens. Well enjoy and happy holidays to everyone.

Noah the Musical

I realize the pics are not fantastic but when you take a tired, hungry, cranky almost two year old and try to contain her for around seven hours this is the best pictures you can expect.
Mimi took myself and the kids to the Sight and Sound theater in Branson to see Noah the musical. I have to say that it was one of the most amazing things I have seen. The play itself was spectacular and the props and animals were fantastic. I couldn't take pics of the actual show or the scenes and animals but I did put a link at the bottom for y'all to check it out. Madison watched the entire show and when the live and animatronic animals were boarding the Ark I have to say that for our area of the theater Madi stole the show. She was standing on my lap and it was oooh and ahhhh and mommy look and pointing and laughing and complete excitement. It was one of those moments that you would love to bottle and pull out whenever you need to put the world in a good place. The innocence and elation of a child is so amazing. I wish you all could have been there. Thank you Mimi for taking us we had a wonderful time, and thank you Papa we wish you could have been there.

Bubba's Walker

Mimi and I made a stop in St. Louis on the way to Nixa this past Monday to do some decoration shopping and Mimi decided that she needed some baby items for her house. I went in to check out the swings and found Bubba this walker. He loves it! I didn't think he would be able to move around that much in it but boy did he prove me wrong. He would move until he got stuck on something and then after we moved him he would run some more.
Now I just have to keep Priss out of it and keep her from taking his toys from him!!

Bubba's Dedication

Tonight was Makenzie's dedication at church and it went wonderfully. I cried like a baby: big surprise! Makenzie did wonderfully. The candle sitting on his table is his memory candle that we are suppose to burn every year on his anniversary date so that we can remember and when he gets older we can explain to him what it means.

From left: Clint, Grandma Bonnie, Brenda, Joe Hahn, Molly Hahn, Rita Nugent, Mike Nugent, Kay Morris, Mike Morris and Judi Hahn

This is our support system and the people that we love the most. It was only fitting that we spend the evening celebrating Makenzie.

Mike and I had to put on our MSU jerseys and try to rally our team to victory over Uof A. All of our support did not help. I think it was because Madi took her jersey off.

Mimi and Papa Strain gave Bubba this beautiful frame to honor the day and Joe and Judi gave his some adorable books. Madi claimed one for her own (Handy Manny). Thank you so much to everyone for making this day so special. We love you all.
Also, thank you to everyone who could not be here. We love and missed you all.

The Musicians

Last night Mimi and Papa Strain and Grandma Bonnie got into town around 8:30 so Madi took a late nap and woke up when they got here to greet them. Needless to say she was wired. Her and Mike played music for us all. Madi is holding the "egg" to keep Mike on beat while he played guitar. She would dance around and sing. It was great fun watching them!

Then she had to get her camera out to take some pics of daddy.
